FMP - Week 9

This week was a bit chaotic for the FMP as I got busy with other responsibilities, so my progress got a bit side tracked admittedly.

I presented some of my FMP (and personal work) to some people from Creative Assembly to get feedback. They offered some really good feedback and suggestions! They mentioned I should aim to push my contrasts more to really get a better read on things like folds. I’ve been told similar before and I have been trying to push that with my FMP which they saw in contrast to some older personal work but it’s clear I need to go even further with that with my texturing.

Ideally this week, I would’ve had Justice and his weapons all done (I’m fine to skip out on having him rigged) but due to the presentation and other life things requiring attention, I couldn’t get to the weapons. There’s not much I can do for that but I’m not disheartened or concerned to be fair. What I have done to compensate for that was leave Justice as he is, his textures are in a good enough way that I’m comfortable leaving him as he is (and honestly the weapons aren’t a priority, they’re just a nice addition), and I went ahead and started blocking out my third character, Judgement.

Judgement being a full monster will probably spend the longest in the sculpting phase out of all 3 characters. This character will be more out of my comfort zone and I need to get a good balance of exaggerated forms and sensible design choice with him. Starting to block him out now means that I’m a bit ahead for next week and may be able to have Judgement’s sculpt finished earlier so I an go back and attend to Justice’s weapons. I’d rather do this than start Justice’s weapons now and end up being further behind on Judgement.

A little preview to Judgement

I think I would’ve had Justice finished in his entirety if things hadn’t gone a bit haywire, but it was out of my control so not much I could do other than adapt accordingly. I am quite pleased with how Justice looks however, I think my FMP is shaping up quite nicely so far.
